We are Giada Ustica and Claudio Gianuario, and we welcome you to riusourbano.it, the website dedicated to interior architecture, restoration, renovation, and the redevelopment of homes, buildings, and urban spaces.
Our studio has been operating in Palermo and the surrounding area since 2005, offering a full range of architecture services, interior design, installations, and redevelopment projects.
OUR DISTINCTIVE APPROACH
Our mission is to find a balance between new interventions and the discovery and enhancement of existing elements that define and characterize a place or space.
We draw inspiration from constraints: budget, client needs, sustainability, and regulations, to achieve the best synthesis of beauty and functionality through Architecture and Design.
We believe architecture and interiors are not separate fields. Space, surfaces, light, and furnishings interact to create a coherent whole that does not simply follow the latest trends but expresses the present moment. We pay great attention to lighting levels, both natural and artificial, the connection with nature and the urban environment, and the relationship between the existing and the new, to create comfortable and sustainable spaces.

OUR BACKGROUND
After graduating in Architecture in 2003 and 2000 respectively, we collaborated with architecture studios specializing in interior architecture, installations, restorations and renovations of buildings, as well as urban projects and redevelopment in Palermo and the surrounding areas.
We took part in architectural competitions focused on the restoration and revitalization of buildings and urban spaces, receiving mentions and awards, but above all gaining valuable experience in this field.
In 2005, we began working independently and deepened our exploration of the themes that most inspired us.
Transforming a space or building into something new is an incredibly rewarding experience.
Over the years, through conversations with friends, clients, and acquaintances, we realized how little people know about the design process: how an idea develops, how costs are assessed, and what the professional’s role truly is.
That’s why we decided to create this virtual space: a place to share our experience, reveal the behind-the-scenes of the design process, and offer reflections on the home, the city, and the ways we inhabit them.
